The family of Maher al-Akhras, a Palestinian prisoner who went on a hunger strike for the 90th day in a row in protest of his administrative detention without being charged, went on a hunger strike in support of him.

According to News i, quoting the Al-Masira website, Al-Akhras ‘wife said that he and three of his children and Al-Akhras’ 70-year-old mother had gone on a hunger strike in support of him.

He added that he and his family were in front of a room in Kabul Hospital where the Palestinian prisoner was being held, and that they had not been allowed to visit or inquire about his health.

Maher al-Akhras, who has been on a hunger strike for 90 consecutive days, is in a very dangerous physical condition and is severely disabled and unable to move. There is a concern that due to not receiving medicine, vital organs of his body will be severely and suddenly damaged and his life will be in danger.

Ahlam Haddad, the lawyer of Maher al-Akhras, who has been on a hunger strike in the Zionist regime prison for 90 days, published his will on Saturday.

“I want the families of the martyrs and prisoners who went on a hunger strike to carry my body, I want the Palestinian people to defend their homeland,” the Palestinian lawyer was quoted as saying by the Palestine Information Center.

Asir al-Akhras added: “After the Israeli prison guards attacked me, I felt severe pain in my head and whole body and lost consciousness for three hours.

Ahlam Haddad emphasized: “On Sunday, the Supreme Court of the Zionist regime will hold a hearing on the prisoner of conscience, and we demand the cancellation of the extension of his temporary detention, then we will submit a request to transfer him to a hospital in the West Bank.”

It should be noted that the other prisoner went on a hunger strike 90 days ago in protest of his temporary detention, and yesterday Israeli security forces attacked the Kabul hospital, abducted the Palestinian prisoner and transferred him to Ramla prison.
