News i Agency – Iraq arrests ISIS watchdog

According to News i Agency’s International Group, the Iraqi Military Intelligence Organization arrested one of the most important accomplices of the ISIL terrorist group in the “Kanous” area in the city of “Al-Sharqat” in Salah al-Din province.

According to Al-Sumaria News Agency, the organization said in a statement: “They arrested him on the spot.”

He added: “The arrested defendant is one of the most important accomplices of the ISIL terrorist group, and he collaborated especially with secret terrorist groups in the Qara Jogh heights of Makhmur city in Nineveh province, and his main job was to monitor the movements of security forces to target them. “One of his sons is also in charge of sniper groups at the same heights.”

An ISIS leader named the Iraqi governor of the terrorist group was also killed by Iraqi security forces four days ago.

Iraq has stepped up its intelligence pursuit following a recent attack by ISIL terrorists on a market in central Baghdad that killed at least 32 Iraqis and wounded more than 100 others.

A spokesman for the commander-in-chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces recently announced that Iraqi security forces had stepped up their intelligence efforts to pursue terrorists, killing 17 ISIS leaders from last September to January.
