According to News i Agency’s International Group, the Iraqi “Asaeb Ahl al-Haq” movement strongly criticized the performance of Mustafa al-Kadhimi’s government and security forces in response to last night’s explosion in Baghdad.
“We call on the government to take immediate action to stop criminal acts,” Al-Ahd News Network reported, quoting Asaeb.
The movement stressed that al-Kadhimi, the commander-in-chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces and the Iraqi security forces, were primarily responsible for the bombings.
Asking for an inquiry into those who failed in the tragedy, Asaeb said that intelligence measures and pre-emptive operations should be taken to destroy the terrorist bases.
The movement also stressed that the security forces should be given a greater role in the security issue and that their experiences should be used.
Asaeb also called on parliament to impeach the security commanders who failed to do so.
The movement concluded by stating that sudden decisions that target successful security commanders should be reconsidered.
In this regard, the Najba Islamic Resistance Movement also accused the Iraqi parliament and government in ignoring warnings about last night’s explosion in Baghdad (more details).
A bomb blast near the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, has killed at least 30 people and injured 50 others.
Some news sources reported that a Bangladeshi woman with a suicide belt was the cause of the explosion. On July 29, an explosion occurred in the town, injuring several people.
